The best IDX plugin for a WordPress real estate site is the one that puts listings on your own domain as real, indexable pages, connects to your MLS, captures leads into the CRM you already use, and costs what you expected once the MLS fee is added. Below are the main options with the prices their own pages list, as of November 2026, and the questions to ask before you choose.

We make Kept in Touch Home Search, which is not a WordPress plugin; it is covered at the end so you can compare the two approaches.

What to look for in an IDX plugin

  1. Listings on your domain, as real pages. Search engines index pages, not iframes. Ask whether each listing gets its own URL on your domain and whether search results pages can be indexed.
  2. Your MLS is supported. Confirm your MLS by name, how often listings update, and how sold and removed listings are handled.
  3. Lead capture that reaches your CRM. Registrations, saved searches and showing requests should land in the CRM your agents already use, with the buyer's activity attached.
  4. Alerts buyers open. New-listing and price-drop emails in your brand are how a site keeps buyers coming back.
  5. The real monthly cost. Add the plan, setup fees, extra agent seats and the MLS fee.
  6. Speed on a phone. Most buyers search on their phones. Test a listing page on yours before you buy.

Plugin or separate home search site?

A plugin keeps everything inside WordPress, which suits agents who already manage their own WordPress site and want listings mixed with their own pages. A separate home search site on your domain or a subdomain keeps the search fast and maintained by the vendor, and leaves your WordPress site alone. Either can rank, as long as listings are real pages on a domain you control.

Kept in Touch Home Search

Home Search is a home search site and buyer app on your domain, under your brand, rather than a plugin. It connects to your MLS through IRES, MLS Grid, Bridge, Trestle, Spark or any RESO Web API feed, updates as often as every 10 minutes where the feed allows, and sends alerts in your brand within the hour. Every save, search and tour request lands on the buyer's timeline in the Kept in Touch CRM. You can add it to an existing WordPress site with a subdomain or widgets; the website guide shows how. It is in every Kept in Touch plan, starting at $249 a month.
